SOGELIFE supports employability with Life Project For Youth
SOGELIFE S.A. supports Life Project 4 Youth (LP4Y), which aims to help young people in situations of exclusion and offer them the opportunity to develop their technical knowledge and professional skills so that they can become active players in their own lives and contribute to a more inclusive, sustainable and prosperous world.
The project supported by SOGELIFE S.A. in 2023 will provide training for 15 young women aged 17 to 24 at the Training and Development Centre in Bhashantek.
In Bangladesh, of the 31 million young people aged 15 to 24, 72% are unemployed or in vulnerable employment. More than 4 million people live in the slums around Dhaka, so the Training & Development Centre has been established in Bhashantek, a northern slum with more than 20,000 inhabitants.
Since it was set up in 2021, the centre has helped 121 young women to integrate into society and improve their employability, 64% of whom have found jobs. These young women receive training in English, IT and general culture to help them better understand the environment in which they live.
This support is part of SOGELIFE's CSR strategy to become a more responsible insurer, investor and employer.
