SOGELIFE POSITIVE INVESTMENT : A PORTFOLIO IN LINE WITH THE PARIS AGREEMENT
Following the launch of SOGELIFE Positive Investment in 2021 and the award of the LuxFLAG label in the same year, SOGELIFE is pursuing its commitment to sustainable finance and is taking part in the Paris Agreement Capital Transition Assessment (PACTA) project, coordinated by the Luxembourg Sustainable Finance Initiative (LSIP) and supported by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development.
The PACTA methodology gives financial actors the opportunity to measure the exposure of their portfolios to the sectors that emit the most CO2 and to verify their alignment with the Paris Agreement. For SOGELIFE, the contribution to the PACTA project is in line with its desire to be a responsible insurer, investor and employer, by integrating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria into all of the company's activities and by promoting Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) among its stakeholders.
This project allows SOGELIFE to measure the relevance of its approach. In practice, the funds that make up its "SOGELIFE Positive Investment" solution have been analyzed and all the activities of the underlying companies have been examined, in particular their CO2 emission strategy.
Today, SOGELIFE presents the results of this study conducted by LSIP, in line with the carbon neutrality trajectory towards which it is moving:
- In 75% of cases, the SOGELIFE Positive Investment portfolio ranks first in the benchmark*, and is therefore fully aligned with the Paris agreement;
- The exclusion criteria chosen by SOGELIFE are consistent with the Paris agreement;
- In equities: the "SOGELIFE Positive Investment" portfolio is systematically the least exposed of the benchmark, with 93% of its investments made in the least polluting companies;
- In terms of bonds, the “SOGELIFE Positive Investment” portfolio is the most exposed of the benchmark in terms of renewable energy (+3%).
The analysis conducted as part of the PACTA project is a key step for SOGELIFE, as it confirms the relevance of its approach and consolidates a global SRI strategy based on demanding criteria.
As a responsible actor, SOGELIFE has an essential role to play in promoting sustainable finance and in supporting its clients in their efforts to adopt more virtuous assets, as illustrated by the launch of the SOGELIFE Positive Investment product. The results of this study show that SOGELIFE's actions enable it to actively contribute to the fight against global warming. Jean Elia, CEO de SOGELIFE
